New Ruger American Competition Pistol

Ruger American Competition

Ruger announced their latest pistol today, the American Competition Pistol.

The Ruger American Competition is packed full of features. These help it level the playing field with more traditional match oriented pistols.

The rear sight is fully adjustable for use with your preferred load. Front sights are fiber optic allowing rapid sight acquisition. The slide is compatible with red dot optics from several manufacturers. Ruger specifically mentions Vortex, Burris, Doctor, Sightmark, and MeoRed compatibility for the American Competition. Lightening cuts have been made to the slide, reducing weight when firing. The 5 inch barrel provides enhanced performance with lightweight bullets.

Frames have been redesigned with improved texturing for a more positive grip. Both the magazine release and slide lock are ambidextrous, making the Ruger American Competition friendly to wrong handed shooters. The striker is pretensioned for a lighter trigger press. The gun ships with two 17 round magazines, and comes in at 34.1 ounces empty.

The Ruger American Competition has an MSRP of $579.00. Keep an eye out for this to hit shelves soon!
